About Community Grants
The Capitol Hill Community Foundation awards grants to non-profit organizations, schools and other neighborhood groups in support of programs and projects that benefit residents of the Capitol Hill neighborhood. We define “Capitol Hill” as the area from the U.S. Capitol to RFK Stadium, and from Florida Avenue, NE to the Anacostia River.
Grants are made in the following areas:
- Children’s education – programs in schools as well as after-school tutoring and mentoring.
- Social Services
- Arts, culture and recreation for children and adults
- Enhancement of the physical environment
In general, the Foundation awards grants for:
- Projects with specific goals and outcomes
- Projects with a broad reach in the Capitol Hill community.
