The Capitol Hill Community Foundation draws on the generosity and idealism of the neighborhood we love to help build a stronger, kinder, more vibrant community. Since our founding in 1989, we’ve given hundreds of carefully targeted grants to local schools, charities, arts groups and other neighborhood organizations, funding school book purchases, tree plantings, musical performances, children’s sports programs and many other efforts.

We’ve also launched some major initiatives of our own, including a thriving neighborhood history project, an awards program honoring important contributions to the urban landscape, and the successful renovation of eight of our community’s public school libraries. Plus, we’ve encouraged and channeled our community’s generous support for the Eastern Market merchants whose lives and livelihoods were disrupted recently by fire.

Please join us by contributing today, or by applying for a grant. Together we’re making Capitol Hill a better place to live, for all of us.
